日本のマンガ・アニメ： 記述言語の探求

【目標】
本演習では、日本のマンガ・アニメについて、美学・美術史学的な視点から、その批評的言説を検討する。
【授業内容】
現代の日本マンガ・アニメは非常に多様な広がりを見せており、論じることが難しくなったと言われている。そこで、マンガ・アニメの表現方法に着目し、現代の日本で行われているマンガ論の主要な論点を選び、テキストを講読しつつ、日本マンガ・アニメを巡る諸問題を討論していきたい。

(5) 少女マンガのコマ構成
(6) 日本の造形的伝統とマンガ

Japanese Comics and Animation Films

Programme: Seminar on Japanese Modern Culture

Objective: This seminar examines how Japanese comics (Manga) and animation films (Anime) have been described in critical discourses, from the view point of aesthetics and art history.
Description: It is often said that we find it difficult to argue about the features of modern Japanese comics and animations, for they have become really diverse and various. We will thus concentrate on the way of drawing and depiction in Manga/Anime, and read the following chapters to discuss current and essential issues: (1) a preliminary historical observation of Japanese comics, (2) lines and their effects, (3) a structure of expression, (4) the functions of frame, (5) the features of "girl comics", (6) Japanese artistic tradition and Manga/Anime.

Assessment: Class Participation: 50%, Essay: 50%
